IP Solutions

Voice over IP

The ACC's VoIP solution employs carrier grade equipment to deliver a local telephony service of the highest quality. Unlike many IP systems which use sub-featured SIP technology, ACC VoIP is a feature-rich service that provides all of the hundreds of features normally reserved to traditional digital telephony systems. Features like "Messagebank" or Voicemail, Call Forwarding and Multi-Party conferencing, to name but a few, are all standard features. In addition, the IP enabled technology allows connection for multi-media devices such as video phones and "soft phones" that reside on a PC.

Why IP?

IP provides additional functionality and security features over and above other methods. For example:

  • All systems and features can be delivered over a SINGLE low-cost, copper wire pair.
  • Emergency/Nurse Call circuits are constantly monitored. This means that any outage, including a break in the cabling to the monitoring centre, can be immediately recognised and appropriate action taken. In most cases, a problem can be identified and rectified often before the end user is even aware of it.
  • Additional phones can be added, each with the ability to make and conduct outgoing calls independently of each other. Incoming calls can be answered from any handset. Room to room intercom is standard.
